Associate Head Coach
We are thrilled to introduce Hall of Fame Coach Victor Balmeceda as the new Head Coach of KongKrete Wrestling Academy. Known affectionately as “Coach B,” Vic is one of the most successful high school wrestling coaches in Florida history. At 53 years young, his unparalleled resume stands as a testament to his dedication and skill in the sport.

Since 1997, Coach Victor Balmeceda has led the powerhouse South Dade Buccaneers wrestling team to incredible heights. Under his leadership, the team has won 16 Team State Championships, including the last 10 consecutive titles, and 8 Team State Runners-Up titles. They have also secured 5 State Dual Meet Championship Titles, 19 Regional Team Championships, 26 District Team Championships, and 18 GMAC Team Championship Titles. Coach Balmeceda boasts a remarkable dual meet record of 500-24, translating to a 96% winning rate. His athletes have achieved 80 Individual State Championships, 128 Individual State Placers, and 23 Individual National Championships. Recognized for his excellence, Coach Balmeceda has been named Florida Coach of the Year 16 times, received 12 National Coach Honors, and is the only coach in the last quarter-century to win the National Wrestling Coach of the Year award twice. Additionally, he has been named Miami Herald Coach of the Year 21 times, with 18 of these consecutively. In 2014, he was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, becoming the youngest coach in Florida history to receive this honor.
Breaking Records:
In 2008, Coach Balmeceda led his team to a historic victory, ending Brandon High School’s 459-match winning streak during a nationally televised match. This achievement marked a significant milestone in high school wrestling history.
Family and Personal Life:
Vic Balmeceda has been married to his wife Susan for 29 years. Together, they have two sons,
Brevin and Gavin, both of whom are highly accomplished wrestlers. In 2024, Brevin won his second
consecutive NAIA National Championship, and Gavin won his first FHSAA State Championship on
the very same day. Brevin’s recent achievements, including securing an NAIA Collegiate National
Title, have established him as one of Florida’s greatest wrestlers.
Victor Balmeceda distinguished himself as a star wrestler at Southwest High School, finishing as a state runner-up as a junior and concluding his senior year with an impressive 32-1 record. He continued his wrestling career at Chowan College, earning JUCO All-American honors, and at Appalachian State University, where he won the Southern Conference Championships and was named the Southern Conference “Outstanding Wrestler,” securing a trip to the 1993 Division I NCAA National Championships.
This marks the first time Coach Balmeceda will be coaching outside of South Dade, and we are honored to have him lead KongKrete Wrestling Academy to new heights. His extensive experience, unmatched success, and dedication to the sport make him an invaluable asset to our program

Ralph Carer, a well-known figure in the wrestling community, is transitioning from his successful tenure at Miami Elite Wrestling Academy to take on a new challenge as a coach at KongKrete Wrestling Academy.

Ralph Cater’s journey in wrestling began at Miami Elite Wrestling Club, where he quickly established himself as a formidable coach. His expertise and dedication to the sport helped the club produce numerous state and national champions. Under his guidance, Miami Elite became renowned for its rigorous training programs and its ability to develop young wrestlers into elite athletes.
Transition to KongKrete Wrestling Academy:
Carter’s move to KongKrete Wrestling Academy marks a new chapter in his illustrious career. At KongKrete, he brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success. His coaching philosophy, focusing on discipline, hard work, and technical excellence, is integral to his training programs.
Throughout his career, he has coached multiple state champions, instilling in them the skills and mindset required to compete at the highest levels.
He emphasizes the importance of technical skills, ensuring that his wrestlers are not only physically prepared but also tactically aware.
Beyond physical training, he is known for his mentorship, helping young athletes develop the mental toughness needed for competitive wrestling.

During his high school career, Goff became a 5-time state qualifier, 4-time state placer, and an undefeated state champion. At the national level, he earned All-American honors by finishing second at the NHSCA National Championships and concluded his high school career ranked 7th in the country by Wrestling USA Magazine. In freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling, he achieved 5-time All-American status and won 5 FAWA State Championships.
Despite being pursued by multiple Division 1 schools, Jason chose to become a firefighter, later joining his father in their family business. After taking the reins in 2007, he expanded the business by over 400%, enabling him to establish KongKrete Wrestling Academy.
Jason serves as the President of Florida Concrete Unlimited. He and his wife, Yvette, have been married for 15 years, and together they have four children: Mia, Jason Jr., Jake, and Emma
At KongKrete Wrestling Academy, he is expected to elevate the Academy’s performance, building on its existing strengths and bringing new strategies and techniques to the training regimen. His presence is anticipated to attract new talent and inspire current members to achieve greater heights in their wrestling careers.
Cater’s transition to KongKrete Wrestling Academy signifies a new era for both the coach and the Academy. His commitment to excellence and his ability to nurture talent will undoubtedly contribute to the ongoing success and reputation of KongKrete Wrestling Academy as a premier destination for aspiring wrestlers.
